This position serves as the operational leader for a small to medium-sized full-service branch, ensuring the efficient delivery of Navy Federal Credit Union's comprehensive financial products and services. The Branch Manager is responsible for directing all branch activities, from daily vault operations to strategic business growth, while fostering a culture of member service excellence.
The role exists to bridge the gap between complex financial regulations and member needs. You will lead a diverse team in providing lending products, depository accounts, and estate services, while simultaneously managing cash operations, security protocols, and branch profitability. This is a dynamic position that requires balancing rigorous compliance standards with the agility to solve problems that lack clear precedents.
Your day begins with overseeing vault opening and closing procedures, ensuring all assets are secure and balanced. You will then shift focus to team leadership, conducting performance reviews, mentoring staff, and establishing development goals to eliminate inefficiencies. A significant portion of your time is dedicated to external engagement, leading marketing efforts through local events, financial presentations, and trade shows to grow the member base.
You will also analyze business reports to identify trends and optimize performance, ensuring the branch aligns with division strategies. Whether resolving complex employee concerns, managing budget requirements, or liaising with neighboring branches to support regional continuity, your role is pivotal in maintaining the branch's operational integrity and community presence.
Candidates must meet specific scorecard criteria defined by Branch Operations Governance. The selection process evaluates experience in diverse operational environments, advanced knowledge of federal regulations, and proven supervisory skills. Successful candidates will demonstrate the ability to manage multiple priorities independently and interact diplomatically with staff, management, and members.
This role is based in San Diego, California, with hours available Monday through Saturday based on business needs. Depending on operational requirements, the position may involve working at or transferring permanently to neighboring branches within a reasonable commuting distance.
