Based at the Moody Outpatient Center, this position is dedicated to performing routine to complex quality breast imaging and procedures. The role exists to uphold the highest standards of care set by Parkland Health & Hospital System (PHHS), as well as State and Federal regulations. You will be responsible for developing high-quality breast images for radiologists, evaluating patient history, and ensuring all procedures are executed with precision and compassion.
Your work involves a blend of technical expertise and patient advocacy. You will perform mammography tests, from screening to diagnostic exams, and assist with specialized procedures such as biopsies and needle localizations. A significant part of your day is spent communicating effectively with patients, visitors, and hospital staff to ensure they feel comfortable and informed throughout their visit.
Beyond imaging, you will maintain rigorous quality control checks on systems in accordance with American College of Radiology standards and manage documentation within the Radiology Information System. You may also have the opportunity to train and supervise radiologic students rotating through the mammography area. The role requires staying current with the latest advancements in the field through seminars and professional journals, while actively participating in departmental performance improvement programs.
Candidates eligible for a $10,000 sign-on bonus are encouraged to apply. The position requires specific certifications, including ARRT in Radiography and Texas Medical Board licensure, with a preference for those who already hold Advanced Certification in Mammography or are willing to obtain it within 12 months of employment. A current Healthcare Provider (BLS Level) CPR card is also required prior to hire.
