JT4, LLC provides critical engineering and technical support to multiple western test ranges for the U.S. Air Force and Navy under the Joint Range Technical Services Contract (J-Tech II). Our mission is to develop and maintain realistic integrated test and training environments, preparing the nation's war-fighting aircraft, weapons systems, and aircrews for today's missions and tomorrow's global challenges.
This position serves as a Maintenance Trades Specialist III, functioning independently to ensure the operational readiness of facilities and mechanical systems. You will be the primary expert for diagnosing and repairing complex mechanical equipment, HVAC systems, and related subsystems. Your work directly supports the integrity of the test ranges, ensuring that environmental controls and machinery function flawlessly under demanding conditions.
In this role, you will tackle a diverse array of challenges, from dismantling and repairing subsystems using hand tools to fabricating and installing ductwork and chassis parts with welding equipment. You will manage the full lifecycle of repairs, including preparing specifications for major overhauls, replacing defective components, and reassembling machines for optimal operation. A significant portion of your day will involve specialized HVAC tasks, such as installing environmental-control systems, mounting compressors, and troubleshooting refrigeration circuits to maintain precise temperature and humidity levels.
Beyond technical execution, you will often provide work direction to lower-level maintenance workers and keep supervisors updated on project status. The work environment is dynamic; while some tasks occur in a shop or repair facility, much of the work is performed outdoors. You may face moderate noise levels and extreme weather conditions, and the role may require travel to remote facilities. Physical demands include frequently stooping, stretching, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
To apply, candidates must submit their qualifications demonstrating a high school diploma or equivalent, completion of a formal apprenticeship program, and 10 years of directly related work experience in Mechanical/HVAC trades. Candidates with HVAC as a base trade must possess CFC Certification upon hire. Additionally, applicants must be U.S. citizens and able to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.
The selection process will evaluate your technical proficiency, communication skills, and ability to work independently in a federal contract environment. Successful candidates will be required to maintain a valid state-issued driver's license and adhere to all operational, safety, quality, and environmental policies.
JT4, LLC is an equal opportunity employer committed to building a diverse and inclusive workforce. We value the unique perspectives and experiences that all candidates bring to our team. Tasking for this position is in direct support of a Federal Government Contract, which necessitates U.S. citizenship and the ability to maintain security clearances. We welcome applications from qualified individuals regardless of background, provided they meet the specific federal requirements for this role.
