This position serves as the backbone of operations at Killens Pond State Park, the centerpiece of Delaware's state park system. Located in central Delaware, the park features a historic 66-acre millpond established in the late 1700s. The Physical Plant Maintenance/Trades Technician is responsible for the comprehensive care of the park's grounds and buildings, ensuring safety and functionality for visitors year-round.
The role demands versatility and resilience, requiring the incumbent to manage a wide array of maintenance tasks ranging from electrical and plumbing systems to carpentry, welding, and waterpark mechanical work. The position involves working in diverse conditions, including weekends, holidays, and inclement weather, to maintain the park's infrastructure and historical structures.
The selection process evaluates applicants based on their education, training, and experience as they relate to the specific job requirements.
