About the Role
This position serves as a vital support function for the American Red Cross, ensuring our facilities and equipment remain safe and operational. You will perform repairs and maintenance across plant or office facilities, handling a variety of trades including carpentry, plumbing, painting, electrical work, sheet metal fabrication, and welding. Your work involves conducting routine and special inspections to prevent breakdowns, using blueprints and technical diagrams to troubleshoot and repair machinery.
Beyond technical repairs, you will manage the physical environment of our offices, from patching walls and repairing concrete to maintaining grounds, including planting, pruning, and snow removal. You will also provide support and leadership guidance to volunteers, ensuring our operations run smoothly in compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations. This role is based in our Honolulu chapter office, requiring you to be on-site three days a week, with regional travel involved for approximately 10% of the time.

Requirements
