This Electrician position is the backbone of electrical and mechanical operations within a state-of-the-art turkey processing plant. The role is designed for a proactive professional who seeks to expand their expertise across multi-craft disciplines in the electrical and mechanical fields. You will report directly to the maintenance supervisor, ensuring that facility equipment runs efficiently while minimizing downtime through expert troubleshooting and preventative maintenance.
The primary work schedule is Monday through Friday, but the dynamic nature of a processing plant requires flexibility. You must be willing to work early or late shifts, overtime, and weekends as operational needs dictate. The environment is industrial and can be challenging, with exposure to temperatures ranging from 35-40°F to 100°F, as well as wet conditions. The role involves working safely around low and high voltage equipment and conveying systems, requiring the ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and stoop for up to 10 hours per shift.
We value a team-oriented culture where knowledge sharing is encouraged. You will be expected to work with minimal supervision, proactively identifying opportunities for improvement and bringing continuous improvement suggestions to the appropriate resources. A key part of this role is assisting co-workers with repairs and fostering a safe work environment for yourself and your team. Success in this position requires a detailed-oriented approach to maintain compliance with state and federal regulations and electrical codes.

Agriculture has changed a lot since 1983 when Bill and Marsha Prestage started Prestage Farms in North Carolina. But today, we still farm and operate our businesses with the same family values they instilled 40 years ago as we strive to produce top-quality pork and turkey. The Prestage Farms family of companies now includes our base in North Carolina as well as farm production divisions located in South Carolina, Mississippi, Iowa, and Oklahoma. In addition, we have three different protein processing divisions: Prestage Foods in North Carolina (turkey) and Prestage Foods of Iowa (pork), and Prestage Foods in South Carolina (turkey). Our Prestage Farms and Prestage Foods team of more than 2,700 employees and 450 contractor farm families share a commitment to food safety and the well-being of our animals, our environment, and our communities that we call home. Together, we embrace the Prestage family values of doing each job well and treating people fairly while continually looking for ways to improve and advance the processes that allow us to produce the highest quality pork and turkey at a reasonable cost.
