As a Maintenance Generalist - Journey, you will be an integral part of Alaska's infrastructure development and maintenance. Based at the Juneau Hub Maintenance Shop, your primary focus is maintaining, installing, and repairing facility systems and components across the Southcoast Region Division of Facilities Services.
This role is uniquely challenging and rewarding, set against the backdrop of Alaska's breathtaking natural beauty and rugged terrain. You will work in diverse environments, ranging from urban centers to remote locations, addressing a wide range of transportation needs. The work demands adaptability and resourcefulness as you maintain roads, bridges, airports, ports, and public facilities in a state known for extreme seasonal changes.
Your day-to-day involves following safe work practices and contributing to our organizational safety culture. You will be required to respond to facility requirements in the event of natural or man-made disasters and emergencies. The position may involve occasional field inspections and short-duration travel, including flights on commercial or small aircraft to reach remote sites.
