About the Role
This position is designed for a skilled Machine Operator to operate press machines and fabricate specified sheet metal parts within very close tolerances. The role involves operating material transfer systems, inspecting parts, and reporting discrepancies to ensure quality standards are met.
You will work with basic computer operating skills to obtain and verify information from the Manufacturing Execution System (MES). Your day-to-day responsibilities include working from blueprints, checking parts for correctness, and entering yield data into the MES and production logs. You will also set dials on automatic shears or perform calculations to set blade positions and material feed clamps on manual shears. The role may require running two machines simultaneously, inspecting parts every 20 pieces, and maintaining an orderly 5S work area.
Safety is paramount. You are expected to practice safe work and environmentally friendly behavior, actively participate in safety and environmental training, and maintain all required personal protective equipment (PPE). You must understand job hazards and alert management immediately to any unsafe conditions or environmental concerns.
