The Machine Operator Floater - Flexos/Die Cutters serves as a vital link in our corrugated production workflow, leading machine crews from initial setup through to the final completion of complex orders. This position is designed for a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, ensuring that every job meets impeccable quality standards while maximizing efficiency and minimizing waste.
As a Lead Machine Operator, you will be the primary point of accountability for running orders safely and effectively on specialized equipment, including Folder Flexo Gluers (FFG) and Rotary Die Cutters (RDC). Your day-to-day involves not only executing orders according to precise specifications but also troubleshooting issues, performing minor repairs, and guiding operators and helpers through their duties. You will play a key role in supporting the Operations and General Managers, ensuring that production goals align with both company objectives and client expectations.
This role operates within a dynamic manufacturing setting characterized by moving mechanical parts, varying temperatures, and high noise levels. Safety is paramount; employees are regularly exposed to vibrations, fumes, and airborne particles, requiring strict adherence to lockout/tagout procedures and the use of specific personal protective equipment (PPE). The physical nature of the job demands the ability to stand, walk, lift up to 70 lbs, and navigate various physical postures, including stooping, kneeling, and climbing. A strong commitment to safety and a proactive approach to maintaining a clean, hazard-free workspace are essential for success in this environment.
