The Coating Assistant Operator is a vital member of our production team, dedicated to maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and efficiency. This role serves as the foundation for our coating operations, ensuring that machinery runs smoothly while adhering to strict regulatory and safety protocols. You will be the first line of defense in identifying potential hazards, from machine guarding and pinch points to emergency stop procedures, ensuring a secure environment for everyone on the floor.
Your day-to-day involves a dynamic blend of technical operation and continuous learning. You will assist with machine setup, startup, and shutdown, while gaining proficiency in operating online support equipment such as HMI systems, camera systems, and thickness gauges. The role requires active participation in Make Ready tasks, including die and pump setups, as well as adhering to Total Preventive Maintenance (TPM) practices. Beyond technical execution, you will coordinate material handling, perform basic troubleshooting, and engage in quality issue resolution, all while maintaining a clean and organized work area.
This position operates on a rotating shift schedule that changes every four weeks to meet production demands. Shift lengths may vary between 8-hour and 12-hour blocks, requiring flexibility and a willingness to work any shift as needed. Options include 12-hour day or night shifts, as well as 1st, 2nd, and 3rd 8-hour shifts. Success in this role demands strong hand-eye coordination, the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. multiple times per shift, and the capacity to work effectively within a team-based environment with limited supervision.
Candidates selected for this role will undergo powered industrial vehicle (PIV) training and certification if required. Ongoing training is a core component of the position, ensuring you maintain proficiency in all tasks listed in the employee training record while participating in team activities and continuous improvement efforts.
