About the Role

The Operator Apprentice is an entry-level position designed for individuals eager to launch a career in the wood products industry. This role is not just about performing tasks; it is about learning the trade with the expectation of advancing into more skilled positions over time. You will be part of a dynamic team where you can expect to cross-train within any department, gaining a comprehensive understanding of our operations.

In this role, you will be the backbone of our daily operations, performing a variety of duties both indoors and outdoors regardless of weather conditions. Your day will involve monitoring lumber movement, ensuring quality checks, and maintaining a clean, safe work environment. You will assist in the movement of lumber through the process, clear jams, and perform basic maintenance and inspections on equipment. The position requires a hands-on approach, utilizing tools like pike poles and picaroon to manage lumber, while also documenting results and adhering to strict safety procedures. This is a role for someone who is willing to learn, train others, and contribute to the department's productivity and appearance during downtime.
