The Lunchroom Supervisor & Crossing Guard serves as a vital support figure at Gombert Elementary School, ensuring a safe, orderly, and welcoming environment for students during meal times and recess. This position is essential for maintaining the daily rhythm of the school day, allowing students to focus on learning by providing consistent supervision and care in high-traffic areas.
Your day will be dynamic, moving between the bustling energy of the lunchroom and the open spaces of the playground. You will monitor student behavior in serving lines, while eating, and during dismissal, assisting students with trays, food, and seating. Circulating among tables, you will resolve minor issues and model non-discriminatory practices for all students.
Safety and hygiene are central to your responsibilities. You will follow the school's food safety plan compliant with USDA HACCP guidelines, notify custodians of spills, and ensure table tops remain clean. During recess, you will supervise students and implement playground safety rules. You will also be prepared to assist with fire and tornado exit procedures and crisis management if necessary.
