About the Team

Join the Office of Mental Health at the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities, where we are dedicated to providing compassionate and accessible care to our community. Our mission is to help individuals and families navigate life's challenges and achieve long-term wellness, building a healthier and more resilient community together.

About the Role

As an LPN Non-Institutional at the Waccamaw Center for Mental Health in Conway, SC, you will play a vital role in delivering direct nursing care to patients of all ages. Under direct supervision, you will collaborate with a multidisciplinary treatment team to evaluate care effectiveness, manage discharge planning, and support patients through their wellness journey.

Your day will involve a dynamic mix of clinical and supportive tasks. You will administer medications and injections, monitor vital signs, and perform urine drug screens. Beyond clinical duties, you will educate patients and families on rehabilitative measures, coordinate community support resources, and maintain rigorous documentation standards. This role requires physical mobility to assist patients throughout the clinic and the flexibility to serve as a backup for front desk operations or coverage during staff absences. As an essential employee, you may be asked to report during emergencies or center closures.

Hiring Process

Please note that a resume will not be accepted or reviewed to determine qualifications. You must complete the official state application, including all current and previous work history and education. Supplemental questions are considered part of your official application; any misrepresentation will result in disqualification. Post-hire, successful candidates must provide a 10-year driving record and be able to utilize a state vehicle for work-related purposes.

Equal Opportunity

The Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities is committed to providing equal employment opportunities to all applicants. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy, childbirth, or related medical conditions including lactation), national origin, age (40 or older), disability, or genetic information.
