Maine School Administrative District #35 is seeking a Long Term Substitute Custodian to support the Eliot and South Berwick schools. This role is critical to ensuring students have a safe, attractive, comfortable, clean, and efficient environment in which to learn, play, and develop.
The position covers a period of approximately six weeks, beginning May 18, 2026. The schedule runs from 2:00 pm to 10:00 pm daily.
As the Long Term Substitute Custodian, you will serve as the primary guardian of the school's physical infrastructure during the evening shift. Your work ensures the building remains secure and well-maintained after school hours and during non-school periods when authorized. You will report directly to the Head Custodian for daily instructions and collaborate with the building administrator to maintain the facility's safety and operational integrity.
Candidates must meet specific state and district requirements, including a high school diploma or GED, eligibility for a Maine Department of Education Criminal History Record Check, and a certificate of good health signed by a licensed physician. Applicants must also be capable of climbing ladders to a height of fifteen feet and lifting/moving objects using appropriate equipment.
