About the Opportunity

This position offers a locum tenens opportunity within a free-standing cancer center in Greenville, SC, filling a gap created by the loss of a provider. The practice is comprised of seven physicians and six Advanced Practice Providers (APPs), with a patient mix of 65% benign hematology and 35% malignant oncology.

The role focuses on adult and geriatric populations in both outpatient and inpatient settings. Outpatient duties involve managing an average of 25 patients daily, while inpatient responsibilities include rounding and call coverage for approximately 20 patients. The clinical environment utilizes the EPIC documentation system. Key responsibilities include participating in tumor boards, managing bone marrow transplants, overseeing the blood bank, and handling orders for tests, images, and prescriptions. Chemotherapy administration is supported by nurse oncologists.

Schedule and Availability

The initial contract requires a minimum commitment of six months. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. During the locum period, there is no call requirement. However, if the position transitions to a permanent role, a call schedule of one week out of every 6-8 weeks is expected.

Candidates must be available for four weeks each month, with four days of availability per week.
