This role offers a unique opportunity to provide consult-only neurological services in a setting designed for manageable call volumes and efficient workflow.
The facility operates a dedicated consult-only neurological service supported by one physician and one Advanced Practice Provider (APP) each day. To ensure patient safety and manageable call loads, the facility utilizes telestroke coverage through an external group for overnight stroke management. Established protocols are in place to support consultations across stroke, seizure, and related neurological conditions. The average daily census is approximately 20 adult patients.
Neurologists in this role will work 12-hour on-site shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, followed by 12 hours of call coverage from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM. During on-site hours, the physician will supervise the assigned APP and handle consults for stroke, seizure, EEG interpretation, and other neurological conditions. The overnight call period is generally quiet due to the external tele-neuro group managing initial stroke cases.
