About the Facility

This inpatient facility operates a consult-only neurological service supported by one physician and one Advanced Practice Provider (APP) each day. The facility maintains established protocols to support neurological consultations across stroke, seizure, and related conditions. To ensure manageable call volume, the facility employs telestroke coverage through an external group for overnight stroke management.

The Clinician's Workday

The neurologist will provide inpatient consult-only services during 12-hour on-site shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, followed by 12 hours of call coverage from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM. The average daily census is approximately 20 patients. During on-site hours, clinicians will supervise the APP assigned to the service. Consults include stroke, seizure, EEG interpretation and reading, and other neurological conditions. Tele-neuro coverage through an outside group manages initial strokes overnight, resulting in generally quiet call periods.
