St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo, Ohio, is a Level 1 Trauma Center featuring a Level 4 Labor & Delivery unit. This teaching facility supports a robust OB/GYN program with resident physicians available to assist on Labor & Delivery (L&D) and collaborate with midwives. The hospital is equipped with onsite labs, ultrasound services, and a Level III Nursery.
Alumni Healthcare Staffing is seeking a Locum OB/GYN Hospitalist to provide critical coverage at St. Vincent Medical Center. This position addresses a temporary staffing gap caused by two FTEs being unavailable due to pending maternity leave, as outpatient OBs are reducing their laborist shifts during the summer season.
The role involves managing a high-acuity patient population, with approximately 80% of the practice classified as high-risk pregnancies (including conditions such as toxemia, diabetes, cardiac issues, and chronic lung or renal disease). The remaining 20% of cases are low-risk, while 10% of the practice focuses on Gynecology. The physician will perform a wide range of procedures, including routine and complicated deliveries, C-sections (including breech and multiple births), VBACs, and various operative GYN procedures such as ectopic pregnancy management and laparoscopic diagnostics.
The coverage period runs from July 26, 2026, through August 10, 2026. The schedule consists of 24-hour shifts from 8:00 AM to 8:00 AM on the following dates:
