Our client in Alaska is actively seeking a dedicated Family Practice Nurse Practitioner to commence a 9-day assignment on June 23, 2026. This vital role serves as the primary clinic in the village, requiring the practitioner to assess patients in a dynamic clinical setting and manage a diverse array of standard family medicine cases.
The position involves delivering both acute and chronic care for various conditions, ranging from common illnesses like colds, coughs, and flu to complex issues such as diabetes, hypertension, and substance abuse. As the sole provider in the village, you will coordinate transfers for serious cases as needed. The schedule includes shifts from 8 AM to 4:30 PM, complemented by on-call duties, often within a fast-paced environment.
Locum tenens jobs, sometimes referred to as travel assignments, are contract positions designed to meet patient care needs at various healthcare facilities and hospitals for a defined period. These roles can vary in length from a single week to over a year, often with options for extension.
Medical professionals who undertake locum or travel work possess the same qualifications as permanent staff and frequently opt for these roles due to benefits such as competitive remuneration and greater scheduling flexibility.
This assignment offers strong compensation with travel-related expenses covered. A-rated medical malpractice insurance is provided, and you will be assigned a dedicated recruiter to assist with future travel opportunities.
