About the Role
The Local Information Security Officer (LISO) serves as the primary cybersecurity representative for the local organization, bridging the gap between global corporate strategy and local operational realities. This role is not merely an executor of guidelines but a strategic partner expected to actively contribute to global processes with deep local business expertise.
The LISO operates with a scope covering all technological systems within the company, spanning both IT and OT (Operational Technology) domains. To succeed, the position requires a level of organizational authority that allows the incumbent to influence all areas of the business. The role often involves integrating resources from diverse functions, such as maintenance, with the LISO coordinating these local resources to ensure a unified security posture.
Day in the Life
As the local cybersecurity voice, you will develop and maintain an in-depth understanding of business unit processes, systems, technologies, and third-party relationships. You will act as the escalation path for all cybersecurity issues, incidents, and inquiries, ensuring they are resolved effectively.
A significant portion of your time will be dedicated to collaboration with the Corporate Cybersecurity Security Operations Center (SOC) to drive incidents to resolution and assist with investigations. You will also ensure the local implementation of global architectures while simultaneously participating in the definition of those global processes by providing insights based on local needs. Your work culminates in providing local reporting that feeds into global governance bodies, ensuring transparency and compliance across the organization.
