This position is dedicated to the safe and efficient delivery of parts and equipment to customers, satellite stores, wholesale accounts, and vendors. The role serves as a critical link between the store and the client, ensuring that orders are picked up and delivered in a timely, accurate, and professional manner. Success in this role requires a strong commitment to safety, adherence to traffic laws, and the ability to maintain a positive attitude while providing exemplary customer service.
Your day begins with a thorough vehicle inspection, including checking oil, fuel levels, and completing the daily vehicle checklist to ensure the truck is in good working order. You will coordinate with dispatchers, inside sales, and warehouse personnel to plan efficient routes for last-minute pick-ups and deliveries.
Throughout the day, you will transport parts to clients and distribute them to appropriate drop-off spots. A key part of your responsibilities involves verifying that invoices match the items being delivered or picked up and accurately processing check payments. You will use a delivery tablet to log daily activities and secure recipient signatures for every transaction.
In addition to driving, the role involves maintaining the cleanliness of the delivery vehicle and the store, including sweeping floors, dusting parts bins, and managing waste. You will also assist with inventory management, ensuring pallets and boxes are properly received, stored, and stocked. The role requires proficiency with PCH testing and machine equipment to service client needs, as well as performing basic vehicle maintenance and reporting any repair needs to management.
Candidates must possess a current valid driver's license with a clean driving abstract. Forklift certification is required and must be obtained within three months of employment. The role involves working regular business hours, with potential for extended hours during inventory events or travel between locations.
