About the Role
You will work within a Linux environment supporting a Cross Domain Solution (CDS), focusing on its sustainment and evolution. This position requires applying expertise across complex scripting, development, and workaround assignments that demand originality and innovation. You will have significant latitude to develop methodologies, present solutions to problems, and contribute directly to deliverables.
Altamira requires Linux system administration support for the development, testing, deployment, operation, and maintenance of mission-critical applications. A primary focus is providing system administration, configuration, and support tools to maintain and monitor the health of a large data transfer and message processing infrastructure. While the software development team handles application customization, this role is essential for administering and enhancing a data metrics collection and dashboarding system, enabling simplified operator supervision of overall system performance.
Your day-to-day will involve active monitoring and sustaining geographically distributed Linux-based applications to meet service-level agreements. This includes patching, troubleshooting, debugging, and creating workaround solutions for incident response management. You will interface with federal personnel to communicate SLA metrics and remediate incidents, while also scripting and potentially developing software to automate operations and maintenance. Potential projects include developing sensors to accelerate the detection of failed systems and creating documentation for operations, sustainment, and user guides.
