At American Addiction Centers (AAC), we are dedicated to providing quality, compassionate, and innovative care to adults struggling with addiction and co-occurring mental health disorders. Our mission is to empower patients, their families, and communities by helping individuals achieve recovery and optimal wellness of the mind, body, and spirit.
We foster a progressive culture that listens to your ideas, values work-life balance, invests in education, and builds trust and respect for all individuals. We are looking for future leaders who are not only ready to meet the qualifications of this role but are eager to exceed expectations as part of a team committed to making a difference.
This position is designed to support our mission by delivering safe, medically managed detox services. You will play a critical role in the assessment and evaluation of patient withdrawal, executing appropriate medication detox protocols, and administering prescribed medications. Beyond clinical duties, you will serve as a vital educator, helping patients understand their conditions, medications, and self-care requirements to promote their independence.
Your day will involve monitoring the effects of medications, maintaining accurate narcotic control inventories, and documenting patient care in the EMR. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to resolve patient needs, utilizing de-escalation techniques when necessary, and ensuring continuity of care through clear communication during shift handoffs. You will also contribute to the team's growth by participating in the onboarding of new nurses for medication administration.
