As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at Avera Mary House, you will provide professional nursing care, assessment, and evaluations to residents within your scope of practice. This role is vital to ensuring high-quality, consistent care that respects the unique needs and dignity of every individual served.
You will work as an integral part of the nursing team, performing licensed practical nursing functions under the direction of the Registered Nurse. Your day involves conducting resident assessments, implementing care plans, and administering medications safely and accurately using systems like Pyxis. You will actively participate in care planning, guide staff in meeting resident needs, and collaborate with physicians during rounds using the SBAR communication tool to report changes in resident conditions.
Beyond clinical duties, you will be a mentor to new staff, seeking educational opportunities to share knowledge and assist in their orientation. You will also play a key role in maintaining a safe environment by investigating incidents, managing conflicts with sensitivity, and upholding strict standards of documentation and confidentiality.
This is a regular, full-time position based at Avera Mary House in the United States. The role operates on a night shift schedule, with options for 6:00 PM–6:30 AM or 10:00 PM–6:30 AM. The schedule includes weekends and holidays as needed, with occasional call requirements, totaling 80 hours over a two-week period.
