About the Role

As a Support Staff/Instructional Assistant at Sheldon Lake Elementary School, you will play a vital role in the daily operation and organization of our campus library and media center. Your primary mission is to support students and staff by facilitating access to library services, circulation procedures, and instructional resources. You will help cultivate a welcoming environment that actively encourages literacy, research skills, and academic success for our student body.

Day in the Life

Your day will be dynamic, balancing organizational tasks with direct student interaction. You will manage the flow of materials by checking books in and out, organizing shelves, and processing new inventory. Beyond the stacks, you will supervise students in the library, ensuring a positive and productive atmosphere while assisting them with basic research and technology use. You will also support campus-wide literacy initiatives, such as book fairs and reading programs, and provide teachers with the media materials they need for their classrooms. Additionally, you will handle clerical duties, maintain accurate records, and assist with the operation of library technology.

Hiring Process

Sheldon ISD will accept applications for this position through May 19, 2026. If a suitable candidate is not identified by the initial deadline, the district will continue to review applications submitted thereafter in five-day increments until a viable candidate is recommended for hire.
