About the Role
The Librarian - Children serves as a vital link between the library's collections and its youngest patrons. In this role, you will not only manage and curate the children's collection but also bring stories and learning to life through engaging programming. Your day will involve assessing and weeding collections to ensure they remain relevant and high-quality, while simultaneously guiding families through the library's vast resources. You will plan and execute special programs such as story times and summer reading events, fostering a love of reading in children and teens. Beyond direct patron interaction, you will mentor staff, manage selection budgets, and collaborate with the team to interpret community needs and shape the library's outreach efforts.
