About the Role

You will compose and prepare correspondence, provide legal administrative support to attorneys, court officers, and law enforcement personnel, and assist with calendaring and scheduling. The role requires handling confidential matters and ensuring the smooth administrative operation of the legal team.

Employees purchasing a home in El Dorado County may also qualify for down payment assistance.

Hiring and Application Process

To apply, submit your application online via the 'Apply' link at the top of the announcement. Complete all required supplemental questions and click 'Accept' to finalize your submission. Human Resources will screen applications to determine if you are minimally qualified.

Qualified candidates will be referred to the next step, which includes a written examination to determine ranking and placement on the eligibility list. The online examination is tentatively scheduled for June 4, 2026. Candidates who have taken this examination within the last six months may have their scores automatically transferred; those with scores between six and twelve months old may elect to transfer or retake the exam by contacting Human Resources.

Prior to a conditional job offer, all candidates will undergo a thorough background investigation. Depending on the classification, pre-employment medical screening, including drug testing, may be required. Positions with access to Federal Tax Information (FTI) will also be subject to specific background investigations and criminal history checks, with re-investigation required every five years.
