Leasing Community Intern

About the Role

As a Leasing Community Intern, you serve as the face of our community, dedicated to delivering high-quality customer service and fostering a welcoming environment for residents. This temporary, non-exempt position is designed for current or future leaseholders who live on designated community floors. You will play a vital role in striving for 100% occupancy by retaining existing residents, leasing current availability, and pre-leasing future units.

Your day-to-day involves acting as an ambassador for our brand, ensuring every interaction with prospective clients and current residents is positive and professional. From managing administrative front desk tasks and answering leasing calls to guiding tours and closing leases, you will utilize our proprietary Cardinal Way of Leasing (CWoL) methodology. You will also assist in planning community events and maintaining the cleanliness of the tour path to ensure a lasting positive first impression.

You will work in a dynamic environment that includes both indoor and outdoor settings, such as apartment buildings, amenities, and landscaping areas. The position requires adaptability to various weather conditions and the ability to navigate all areas of the property.

As an intern, you are expected to be available for evenings and weekends, including on-call responsibilities for issues like lock-outs or nightly rounds. The role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in real estate leasing while living within the community you serve.

Hiring & Review Process

Candidates must be enrolled in an accredited degree program with a minimum of 6 credit hours and a 2.5 cumulative GPA. The selection process includes participation in Cardinal Way of Leasing training and Cardinal U training, with a requirement to pass third-party leasing shops and become CWoL certified.

Please note that Community Interns are required to re-apply for the position annually. Previous employment in this role does not guarantee rehire, though exceptions may be granted by a Portfolio Manager on an individual basis.
