As a Lead Systems Engineer, you will serve as the FRACAS (Failure Reporting Analysis & Corrective Action System) lead for the Department of Defense. Your primary mission is to evaluate and improve the reliability of DoD communications systems, including wideband, narrowband, and SATCOM products.
In this role, you will operate within a complex, low-volume electronic environment to identify failure trends and drive product reliability improvements. You will direct investigations into design, production, and field failures, determining root causes and making critical recommendations to the Failure Review Board. Your work involves coordinating resolution efforts across Engineering, Manufacturing, Programs, Material Control, and Quality departments to ensure seamless issue resolution. You will also manage the FRACAS database, track open investigations, and present technical data to management and customers.
This position is based in Salt Lake City, UT, and operates on a 9/80 schedule. Employees work 9 out of every 14 days, totaling 80 hours, with every other Friday off. The role requires the ability to obtain a DoD Security Clearance, and successful candidates must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Direct experience supporting a FRACAS program. Familiarity with FRACAS software or databases and a working knowledge of Reliability Analysis and Failure Mode / Fault Tree Analysis. Experience troubleshooting complex electronic systems including data link and mechanical systems. A strong background in data mining using Business Objects and SQL. Experience performing Reliability and FRACAS specific analysis and activities.
