The Services Instrumentation and Controls Mechanical Engineer plays a pivotal role in the development of the BWRX-300 Small Module Reactor. This position focuses on designing, developing, and testing Instrumentation and Control (I&C) equipment that governs safety-critical functions. Specifically, the engineer will design the mechanical components that house electronic equipment and manage the interconnecting cables within nuclear power plant environments.
Success in this role requires a blend of technical problem-solving, rigorous requirements management, and effective collaboration across engineering disciplines. You will be accountable for the cost, schedule, quality, and technical accuracy of your assigned tasks, ensuring that all designs meet the stringent standards required for nuclear installations.

Experience in highly regulated industry. Instrumentation and Controls cabinet design experience with cable design and routing experience. Seismic analysis qualification experience. Familiarity with Nuclear standards and qualification methods. Boiling Water Reactor / Small Module Reactor design experience. Extensive familiarity with Inventor, SolidWorks, and / or AutoCAD. Ability to solve technical challenges through application of common design patterns and identifying appropriate patterns for use in problem solving. Experience with typical engineering project design methods from requirements definition through confirmation testing of final design. Excellent written and verbal communications skills and ability to articulate clearly. Ability to contribute to creative solutions and challenge status quo. Proactive learning of new tools and identification of opportunities for improvement and promotion of their adoption.
