About the Role

The Services Instrumentation and Controls Mechanical Engineer plays a pivotal role in the development of the BWRX-300 Small Module Reactor. This position focuses on designing, developing, and testing Instrumentation and Control (I&C) equipment that governs safety-critical functions. Specifically, the engineer will design the mechanical components that house electronic equipment and manage the interconnecting cables within nuclear power plant environments.

Success in this role requires a blend of technical problem-solving, rigorous requirements management, and effective collaboration across engineering disciplines. You will be accountable for the cost, schedule, quality, and technical accuracy of your assigned tasks, ensuring that all designs meet the stringent standards required for nuclear installations.

Work Environment & Culture

GE Vernova offers a challenging career environment focused on professional development and innovation. We are committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace where employment decisions are made without regard to race, color, religion, national or ethnic origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, disability, or protected veteran status.

We strongly consider Indigenous persons for Canadian-based positions, recognizing the value of First Nations, Métis, and Inuit heritage. Our team is dedicated to solving complex technical challenges by applying common design patterns and challenging the status quo to find creative solutions.

Eligibility & Location

This role involves access to U.S. export-controlled information. Final offers are contingent upon the ability to obtain necessary authorization from the U.S. Government. For candidates in Canada, this position reports onsite to the Markham office three days a week and requires legal authorization to work in Canada.

Application Process

This posting is for an existing vacancy. Offers of employment are conditioned upon the successful completion of a background investigation. Please note that for Canadian-based roles, a drug screen is not required as part of the background check process. For U.S. positions, a drug screen is required. The position is expected to remain open for at least seven days after the posting date.
