The Lead ESS Installation Technician serves as a senior field supervisor, performing complex installation duties while leading and overseeing a team of technicians at client work sites. This role is critical for executing technology projects in large commercial environments, requiring a blend of hands-on technical expertise and strong leadership to ensure project success.
In this position, you will coordinate closely with project management, field superintendents, and various trades to interpret drawing packages and execute system installations. You will lead installation efforts including rack buildouts, panel terminations, device IP configuration, testing, and troubleshooting for Access Control Systems (ACS), CCTV, and intercoms. A significant portion of your time is dedicated to maintaining project documentation, such as OneNote records for work accomplished, site readiness, inventory updates, and redlines/RFIs.
You will be responsible for identifying drawing or matrix issues, reporting missing or defective equipment, and communicating timeline risks to the Site Supervisor promptly. The role requires navigating active construction sites, often spending 50% or more of the day on foot, utilizing powered industrial equipment like scissor lifts and boom lifts, and ensuring all safety protocols and PPE requirements are strictly followed.
This role operates within active construction environments where safety is paramount. Technicians must maintain and wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and ensure that hazards are identified and addressed promptly. The physical demands include lifting up to 40 pounds, navigating ladders and stairs, and working in varied site conditions.
