The Lead Technician serves as a vital bridge between the Environmental Services Department and the hospital community, ensuring the timely delivery of sanitation, cleanliness, and safety across the Main Hospital Building. This role is designed to optimize customer service and satisfaction by fostering harmonious relationships between departmental personnel and all hospital contacts, including patients, visitors, and staff.
In this position, you will not only maintain the highest standards of cleanliness in critical care areas, patient rooms, corridors, and parking facilities but also lead by example. You will be responsible for training and motivating assigned staff, ensuring the effective use of specialized cleaning equipment, and managing the care and requisition of supplies. The role requires flexibility to respond to shift needs and staff shortages, performing duties ranging from floor maintenance to medical waste disposal as necessary.
As part of the Environmental Services Department at Parkland Health & Hospital System (PHHS), this role supports the broader mission of providing a safe, sanitary, and optimal environment for all internal and external customers. The team is dedicated to continuous improvement, analyzing work processes and workflows to enhance productivity and customer satisfaction while adhering to all federal, state, and accreditation regulations.
Candidates must possess four years of environmental services experience in a healthcare or related institutional setting, or an equivalent combination of college education and management experience. Successful applicants will be required to complete departmental training and testing specific to the role. Please note that this position requires the ability to follow oral and written directions and demonstrate a working knowledge of sanitation techniques and cleaning materials.
