Rainier Recruiting is partnering with a private equity-backed marine electrical services company in Seattle to find multiple Electricians and Lead Electricians. This role is designed for professionals who are passionate about marine electrical systems and are ready to take ownership of complex projects ranging from vessel shore power to alternative marine power installations.
As the Electrician Lead of Record (EoR), you will manage and actively participate in a wide array of electrical projects involving marine vessels and floating structures, including cargo ships, fishing vessels, barges, and tugboats. You will oversee projects from the initial request for quotation (RFQ) through final installation, testing, and compliance. This position offers a unique blend of technical field work and project leadership, requiring strong technical expertise and the ability to deliver results under tight deadlines while meeting rigorous client requirements and industry standards.
Your work will take you between active shipyards and onboard vessels, including deep-water environments. You will lead the planning and execution of marine electrical projects, overseeing the installation and upgrades of electrical systems on vessels and port-side structures. In this fast-paced, dynamic setting, you will troubleshoot complex electrical issues, coordinate with internal teams and clients to ensure adherence to quality, safety, and schedule goals, and maintain accurate project records.
Beyond the technical execution, this role emphasizes a culture of learning and support. You will serve as a mentor to apprentices and less experienced electricians, fostering a team environment built on collaboration, craftsmanship, and a clear chain of command. The work is structured but demands flexibility, with frequent overtime and extended hours during peak operational months, particularly in the winter.
Candidates selected for the next stage will undergo an evaluation designed to assess practical technical skills. This may include:
