We are seeking a Lead Quantitative Analytics / Data Scientist to join our team in McLean, VA, on an on-site basis for a 6-month contract extension with the potential for long-term engagement. This role is critical for advancing our mortgage product strategies, focusing on the development and enhancement of valuation processes and risk metrics for our retained portfolio.
In this position, you will operate with a high degree of independence, determining and developing approaches to complex solutions under limited direction. Your work will directly support trading and hedging activities by conducting sensitivity analyses and impact assessments for model updates. You will be responsible for establishing robust model governance, including preparing comprehensive documentation and performing thorough validation tests, as well as developing ongoing performance monitoring and threshold methodologies.
To thrive in this role, you will need exceptional quantitative, empirical analysis, and research skills, with a strong knowledge of survival analysis and mortgage valuation. Success also depends on advanced programming capabilities in big data analytics, specifically utilizing tools like Apache Spark and AWS cloud computing, alongside proficiency in languages such as Python, R, or SAS.
