As a Laboratory Compliance Officer 2, you will serve as a critical guardian of public health within the Laboratory Licensure and Certification Office. Your work ensures that laboratories in Arizona meet the minimum standards of proficiency, methodology, quality assurance, and safety required by federal and state regulations.
In this role, you will conduct initial and periodic inspections of laboratories and facilities to verify compliance with the Federal Code of Regulations and Arizona Statutes. You will review quality systems by tracking documents, monitoring corrective actions, and analyzing data to ensure operational integrity. When complaints arise or unlicensed laboratories are identified, you will lead investigations into laboratory operations. This position requires a blend of independent analysis and collaborative engagement, as you will attend staff meetings, advisory committees, and industry organizations to stay current on best practices and regulatory changes.
The role involves significant travel to alternate locations and potentially out-of-state to conduct inspections and attend meetings, often requiring the use of a state, personal, or rented vehicle.
