The K-5 Building Learning Specialist at Parkway Elementary School serves as a vital instructional partner within the Bryant School District. This role is designed to bridge the gap between curriculum and classroom practice, ensuring every student receives the targeted support they need to succeed. The position focuses on coaching teachers, implementing specialized interventions, and delivering dyslexia therapy services to foster a culture of continuous instructional improvement.
In this capacity, you will work closely with the building administrator and teaching staff to analyze data, design effective intervention strategies, and lead professional development initiatives. The role requires a deep understanding of Response to Intervention (RTI) frameworks and the ability to model student-centered coaching cycles. By establishing clear procedures for accessing support and creating an environment of trust and respect, the specialist empowers teachers to refine their skills and adapt to the diverse needs of their students.
This is a full-time, 190-day contract position based at Parkway Elementary School. While the core schedule involves 7 hours and 40 minutes of daily duty, the role may occasionally require attendance at after-school or evening events to support the school community. The work environment is primarily indoor and temperature-controlled, with noise levels ranging from low to moderate.
The Bryant School District is committed to fostering a professional community grounded in integrity, confidentiality, and ethical conduct. As a certified employee, you will be expected to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, including mandatory reporting of suspected child endangerment, neglect, abuse, or bullying in accordance with Arkansas law and district policies.
