We are seeking a Junior Accountant to join our hybrid public accounting firm, where you will play a vital role in supporting tax preparation, bookkeeping, and client accounting functions. This execution-focused position is designed for a professional eager to grow within the public accounting sector while developing robust tax and client-service expertise.
In this role, you will operate at the heart of our firm's operations, ensuring accurate financial records and facilitating smooth tax season workflows. You will work closely with senior accounting staff to support financial organization across multiple client accounts, handling everything from month-end and year-end close processes to direct client communication regarding documentation and routine requests. This is a high-visibility opportunity to influence firm growth and gain hands-on experience in a dynamic environment.
Work Environment
Our firm operates in a hybrid setting, requiring a balance of remote flexibility and in-person collaboration. This role is based in the Orlando area with a schedule of two days onsite per week. Success in this position requires a candidate who is comfortable with both independent execution and active team collaboration; candidates seeking fully remote-only roles without onsite availability may not be the right fit.

Key Responsibilities

- check_circleAssist with preparation of individual, partnership, and corporate tax returns
- check_circleMaintain client bookkeeping and accounting records using QuickBooks
- check_circleSupport month-end and year-end close processes across multiple client accounts
- check_circleInput and reconcile financial data accurately and efficiently
- check_circleCommunicate with clients regarding missing documentation and routine accounting requests
- check_circleAssist senior accountants with tax review preparation and compliance support
- check_circleMaintain organized digital files and accounting records within firm systems
Requirements
- verified1–3 years of accounting, bookkeeping, or tax support experience preferred
- verifiedExperience with QuickBooks or similar accounting software required
- verifiedAssociate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
- verifiedExperience with UltraTax, Drake, or Canopy is a plus
Nice to Have
1–3 years of accounting, bookkeeping, or tax support experience. Exposure to public accounting or tax preparation environments. Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Experience with UltraTax, Drake, or Canopy.
