Reporting to the AVP, the Investment Officer plays a pivotal role in the origination and management of profitable commercial mortgage loan investments. This position exists to source high-quality lending opportunities that align with the company's established risk and return parameters, while marketing mortgage products to secure yields consistent with underlying liabilities.
In this role, you will lead the full transaction lifecycle, from sourcing and structuring to underwriting and closing. You will collaborate closely with internal teams across Boston and Toronto, as well as Loan Administration and Collateral Review groups, to ensure asset quality and minimize losses. The day-to-day involves analyzing market conditions, negotiating loan terms, and presenting targeted opportunities to the Credit Team and senior management for approval. You will also support portfolio management activities, including conducting annual loan reviews, monitoring problem loans, and coordinating property inspections to maintain a robust and performing portfolio.
