About the Team

As a member of the Employee Relations Investigations & Policy team, you will serve as a role model for General Motors by supporting the delivery of high-performance services with unwavering integrity. The team's objective is to provide timely, best-in-class services in a collaborative manner while protecting GM's high standards of HR, legal, ethical, and financial integrity. We play a key role in reinforcing GM's "Speak Up" culture by ensuring safe, fair, and consistent handling of concerns raised through internal reporting channels.

Our team adheres to core standards including workplace and product safety, compliance, strategic partnering, responsiveness, sound judgment, real-time transparency, superior work product quality, strong work ethic, cost control, industry knowledge, and teamwork.

About the Role

The Employee Relations Investigator is responsible for performing impartial, fact-based investigations of suspected misconduct and policy violations, including discrimination, harassment, retaliation, bullying, and violations of the "Winning with Integrity" policy. You will own the end-to-end investigation process, from planning and fact-finding to analysis and report writing.

In this role, you will partner closely with HR Policy, Compliance & Special Investigations leadership, Labor Relations, Legal, and other stakeholders. Your goal is to drive timely, fair, consistent, and balanced outcomes that align with GM values, policies, and applicable laws. You will work in a dynamic environment that requires managing multiple complex investigations concurrently while maintaining the highest quality standards and confidentiality.

Why Join GM

Our vision is a world with Zero Crashes, Zero Emissions, and Zero Congestion. We embrace the responsibility to lead the change that will make our world better, safer, and more equitable for all. We believe that every employee must make a choice every day—individually and collectively—to drive meaningful change through our words, deeds, and culture. We strive to ensure that every employee feels they belong to one General Motors team.

Work Arrangement

This role is based remotely. However, if you live within a 50-mile radius of Austin, Mountain View, or Warren, you are expected to report to that location a minimum of three times a week. This position is not eligible for relocation benefits; any relocation costs would be the responsibility of the selected candidate.
