As an Inventory Specialist at Walgreens, you serve as a vital link between our operational systems and our customers. This role is designed to ensure the accuracy and availability of products across both the front end and pharmacy departments. You will champion On-Shelf Availability, managing the end-to-end lifecycle of inventory from receiving and counting to pricing and returns. Your work directly impacts the customer experience by ensuring that when shoppers need a product, it is there, correctly priced, and ready for use.
In this position, you will not only execute daily inventory best practices but also train and support team members on standard operating procedures. Whether you are coordinating with vendors to resolve delivery discrepancies, managing pharmacy recalls under the supervision of a pharmacist, or stepping in as the Leader on Duty to manage store operations, your attention to detail and commitment to accuracy are essential to the store's success.
Your day begins with ensuring the store is ready for business, potentially managing store opening or closing procedures in the absence of management. You will actively engage with customers, greeting them and offering assistance to deliver a distinctive and delightful experience. A significant portion of your time is dedicated to the physical and digital management of inventory: scanning deliveries, verifying shipments, and maintaining accurate counts in the stockroom and pharmacy.
You will collaborate closely with the pharmacy team to verify shipments, manage hazardous waste, and process returns, ensuring full compliance with state and local laws. As a key communicator, you will serve as a liaison between management and the team, coaching others on inventory systems and reporting operational issues. When acting as the Leader on Duty, you will be accountable for point-of-sale transactions, resolving customer issues, and ensuring the sales floor remains clean and well-merchandised.
To apply, please ensure you meet the basic qualifications, including one year of prior retail work experience (or six months with Walgreens for internal candidates) and fluency in English. We welcome candidates with a flexible schedule and a demonstrated ability to multi-task. If you are an internal candidate, we look for an "Achieving expectations" rating on your last performance review.
We are committed to building a diverse workforce. Walgreens is an Equal Opportunity Employer and considers qualified applicants regardless of background, including those with arrest and conviction records. For more information on benefits and compensation, please visit jobs.walgreens.com/benefits.
