The Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University (LKSOM) invites applications for the position of Internal Medicine Residency Program Director at Chestnut Hill Hospital (CHH). Home to more than 350 board-certified physicians, Chestnut Hill Hospital is a 148-bed, community-focused inpatient and outpatient facility. It offers a comprehensive range of services including emergency medicine, minimally invasive laparoscopic and robotic-assisted surgery, cardiology, gynecology, oncology, orthopedics, primary care, two Women's Centers, and an off-site physical therapy center.
The Program Director serves as the leader responsible for the oversight and coordination of graduate medical education (GME) activities at Chestnut Hill Hospital as it relates to the ACGME Internal Medicine Residency Program. This role holds the responsibility, authority, and accountability for administration, operations, teaching, resident recruitment, evaluation, promotion, and disciplinary actions.
The Program Director supports the educational success of residents while upholding patient safety and institutional compliance. The position requires fostering a learning and working environment where residents can raise concerns, report mistreatment, and provide feedback in a confidential manner, free from intimidation or retaliation. The role also involves maintaining a positive learning environment aligned with institutional missions and ensuring resident education is integrated with quality and safe patient care.
