The Department of Medicine, led by Aaron Glatt, MD, MACP, comprises nearly 400 members, including a robust hospitalist program and exceptional subspecialists. The department is deeply committed to the mission of the Icahn School of Medicine, pursuing an integrative approach to patient care, research, and education. We view these three components as inseparable elements of the art and science of medicine, with a strong emphasis on providing patient-centered care for the whole patient.
Currently, the department oversees 39 Internal Medicine Residents under the leadership of Steven Weiss, MD. These residents are preparing to move to a brand-new, state-of-the-art ambulatory site at the end of the academic year, creating a dynamic environment for clinical education and innovation.
We are seeking a full-time Internal Medicine Clinician Educator to join our practices in Manhattan. This position is designed to maintain the high quality and excellent ambulatory experience for our residents. The role is strictly outpatient, focusing on adult patients with a Monday through Friday, 9-to-5 schedule. There is no required hospital care or weekend in-house coverage, though moonlighting options are available for those interested.
This is a university-affiliated, community-based teaching practice that offers significant opportunities for leadership and career development. For senior candidates, there is the potential to serve as an Associate Program Director or Site Director of the new facility. You will partner with world-renowned faculty and benefit from the educational, research, and clinical programs of a nationally ranked medical school. The position includes a fully integrated Electronic Health Record and additional support staff to ensure a productive environment.
Applicants will be eligible for an academic appointment based on their prior appointments and clinical stature. The selection process evaluates candidates for their commitment to Mount Sinai South Nassau and the communities we serve, as well as their communication skills, bedside manner, and organizational abilities.
