Established nearly two centuries ago, FM is a leading mutual insurance company dedicated to property risk management and the resilience of its policyholders. Velocity Specialty Insurance Company, a new subsidiary of FM, leverages this financial strength and legacy to provide Excess & Surplus Lines coverage in catastrophe-exposed market spaces. Velocity aligns with FM's scientific approach to understanding hazards that impact property losses and business continuity, offering insurance protection not generally available in the standard market.
The Internal Auditor plays a critical role in developing the audit program and framework while independently executing complex financial and operational audits. This position ensures the soundness and adequacy of controls, alignment with best practices, and compliance with audit frameworks, policies, and regulations across designated business areas. The role involves planning and executing audits, validating the implementation of action plans, and identifying innovative solutions to enhance organizational governance.
You will serve as a key partner in evaluating the completeness and accuracy of risk assessments supporting Internal Controls over Financial Reporting (ICFR). The position requires operating independently to deliver findings and recommendations, while collaborating effectively to investigate root causes of exceptions and ensure timely resolution. This role is designed for a self-motivated professional who thrives in a deadline-driven environment and possesses strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Candidates selected for this role will undergo a structured interview process to assess technical competencies, cultural fit, and alignment with FM's values. The process typically includes an initial screening, followed by interviews with the hiring team and potential stakeholders to discuss audit methodologies and specific business challenges.
FM is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusion. We consider qualified applicants regardless of background, race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or veteran status. We strive to create an environment where all employees can contribute to the resilience and success of our policyholder-owners.
