About the Role

The Ag & Commercial Lending Internship at Stockman offers a comprehensive orientation to community banking. Under the dual supervision of the Conrad Branch Manager and the Stockman Office staff, you will support agricultural and commercial lending functions to ensure maximum profitability for the Bank. This position is designed to provide extensive in-person and telephone contact experience, fostering relationships that enhance the Bank's professionalism, community focus, and marketing efforts.

Day in the Life

This internship provides exposure to regulatory compliance and participation in day-to-day activities across several key departments:

• Operations/Teller: You will observe how tellers comply with banking regulations while protecting assets and customer information. This includes handling cashing checks, deposits, withdrawals, and performing reconciliations.
• Customer Service: You will gain insight into how representatives instill knowledge of accounts and products, resolve customer problems, and manage transfers and account updates.
• Commercial Lending: You will assist Commercial Lending Officers with financial statement analysis, documentation review, and credit file preparation. This includes participating in loan committee meetings and lender training to understand the credit decision process.
• Stockman Wealth Management: You will be exposed to investment activities and wealth management strategies, supporting management decisions through the preparation of prospect proposals and reviewing marketing materials for compliance.

Application Instructions

Applicants should be entering their junior or senior year in Finance, Accounting, or Economics at an accredited university. Interested candidates must demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills, a detail-oriented and analytical mindset, and proficiency with Microsoft Office programs.
