The Secondary Instructional Coach at Berry Middle School serves as a non-evaluative, collaborative partner dedicated to strengthening instructional practices and improving student learning. Funded through Title 1, Part A, this position is vital for building teacher capacity and promoting consistent, high-quality instruction across the district.
In this role, you will provide job-embedded professional development, model effective instruction, and support teachers in implementing district curriculum and instructional priorities. The position focuses on developing supportive, non-evaluative coaching relationships, utilizing models such as coaching cycles, observation/feedback, and co-planning to foster a culture of continuous growth.
Your work will center on empowering educators through direct collaboration. You will observe classrooms, provide constructive feedback, and co-teach lessons aligned with specific teacher goals and student needs. A significant portion of your time will be spent facilitating data meetings, assisting teachers with data analysis, and helping develop targeted plans for student growth.
You will also design and deliver job-embedded professional learning aligned with campus needs and district initiatives. This includes supporting the integration of Technology Applications TEKS and effective instructional tools. By facilitating effective Professional Learning Community (PLC) practices, you will help teachers engage in collaborative planning, data analysis, and progress monitoring.
Applications are accepted for this position, which is open to qualified candidates with a valid Texas teaching certificate and at least five years of successful classroom teaching experience. A Master's degree is preferred. Candidates should demonstrate a deep understanding of effective instructional practices, TEKS-aligned instruction, and the ability to coach adult learners.
