The 2026-2027 Bilingual Teacher position is designed to empower students to achieve proficiency in both English and Spanish. This role focuses on planning and delivering sheltered lessons that integrate the four domains of language (ELPS) with academic content (TEKS). The ultimate goal is to foster the development of bilingual and biliterate citizens capable of thriving within a diverse and multicultural society.
Teachers in this position serve a diverse student population, including those participating in state and federal programs as well as general education. The role requires creating an inviting, risk-free, and supportive learning environment tailored to students' developmental levels and interests. Beyond the classroom, the teacher supervises students during out-of-class activities and maintains active professional relationships with students, parents, colleagues, and administrators.
Hiring administrators will review applications, conduct interviews, and make recommendations for hire.

This position is offered on a probationary contract spanning 187 days, plus an additional 4 days dedicated to Alief U professional development for teachers new to the district.
