The Instructional Coach serves as a vital partner to teachers, dedicated to supporting the delivery of high-quality, engaging, and standards-aligned instruction. This role is designed to foster the holistic development of students—intellectual, emotional, physical, and social—by collaborating with campus staff to implement district curriculum and evidence-based instructional practices. The ultimate goal is to drive continuous improvement and increase student achievement across all content areas, including dual language, ESL, and special education inclusion.
As an Instructional Coach, you will lead the instructional coaching cycle, working directly with teachers to refine their practice through model teaching, co-teaching, and classroom observations. Your day involves analyzing formative assessment data to guide targeted instruction that meets individual student needs and facilitating professional learning communities to align lesson planning with district initiatives. You will also collaborate on the design and evaluation of the district's instructional program, integrating emerging technologies and innovative strategies to enhance the learning environment.
Beyond the classroom, you will contribute to a positive organizational climate by building trust through effective communication and crucial conversation techniques. You will act as a role model for the district's mission, maintaining open lines of communication with parents, students, and staff while ensuring a supportive, student-centered culture. This role requires adaptability, as you may work irregular hours, including holidays and weekends, to support school events and professional development needs.
We value a culture of lifelong learning. As part of our team, you are expected to engage in regular professional learning to expand your knowledge of adult learning and instructional coaching. You will stay abreast of the latest research by participating in national and state-level organizations, synthesizing information from various media, and attending district and campus professional development activities. Your commitment to the Educators' Code of Ethics and adherence to all state and district policies ensures a safe, ethical, and high-performing environment for everyone.
Candidates must hold a valid Texas Teaching Certificate with required endorsements and possess at least three years of teaching experience. Please note that a satisfactory outcome of a fingerprinting background check is required, with a non-refundable fee of approximately $50 paid by the employee. Previous coaching or teacher leadership experience is preferred. Interested applicants should review the full qualifications and submit their application through the district's official portal.
