The Department of Romance and Classical Studies at Michigan State University seeks to advance the common good through the study of Classics, French, Italian, Portuguese, and Spanish. This position offers a fixed-term opportunity for an Instructor or Assistant Professor to teach lower and/or upper-division courses in one of the department's languages. The role is designed to support the department's teaching mission, with rank determined by the highest degree held. Instructors require an MA, while Assistant Professors require a PhD.
The position may be part-time or full-time, varying by semester based on departmental needs. Appointments are initially for one year or one semester and are renewable contingent upon funding and performance. These are non-tenure track positions where salary and rank are commensurate with experience.
