Attracting over 150,000 visitors annually, L'Alliance New York is the city's premier center for French language and francophone arts and cultures. As an independent, not-for-profit organization, our mission is to provide members and students with engaging French language classes and audacious multi-disciplinary programming that celebrates the diversity of francophone cultures and creativity around the world.
We are internationally known for offering the largest selection of fully-immersive French language courses for students aged one to 101. Our renowned cultural programming includes the annual Bastille Day celebration on Madison Avenue, the Crossing The Line arts festival, Animation First (the biggest animation festival in the U.S.), and the Comic Arts Fest.
The Montclair Campus offers French language classes for all ages, from toddlers to adults, and for all levels, from complete beginners to expert and native French speakers. In September 2024, the campus expanded to include the second location of L'Alliance Preschool, a 100% French immersion program fully licensed by the State of New Jersey.
We are seeking enthusiastic teachers to bring joie de vivre to our classrooms. In this role, you will teach French to children, teens, and adults, fostering a positive environment where students build confidence and fluency. You will work with diverse groups, including toddlers (ages 1–5), children (5–11), teens (11–18), and adults, covering both French as a foreign language and programs designed for native speakers.
Your day-to-day involves planning and delivering engaging lessons that integrate French language and culture. You will guide student interactions, encourage cooperation, and utilize creative, interactive methods to support learning. Beyond the classroom, you will contribute to the development of educational, cultural, and social activities that strengthen the Montclair Campus community and help attract new students.
To apply, please submit a resume (in French), a cover letter, and references.
