Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor. In this position, you will be responsible for initiating, leading, and upholding safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times. Your day-to-day involves assisting and directing customers to proper locations to unload materials while rigorously inspecting for flammable, radioactive, hazardous, and/or leaded materials. You will ensure that non-acceptable items, such as propane tanks, PCBs, and batteries, are not left on company property and will handle the removal and proper storage of such items as needed. This role requires physical handling of materials and supplies, including the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and the flexibility to assist other workers as needed.
Candidates are expected to demonstrate excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate with customers. Dependability and consistency in meeting the attendance schedule are essential, as this position operates on a 6-day work week (Monday through Friday, 7:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Saturday, 7:45 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.). Hours are subject to change.
